What do you look for when you go shop for handbags?

I'm doing a research in what women usually want when they look for handbags in terms of style and usage.
If you could, please describe what do you usually put in handbags, the size and what you always want but you can't seem to find when you go look for them
what about handbags to take to functions or dinners?

Why do men think it’s weird for women to buy too many handbags?

Particularly my parents, well, mostly my dad. I am 21 and I have been spending money on handbags.I mean, I am not spending like $100s...most of the ones I own are from discount stores that sell overstock items so I basically got my Guess and Kathy Van Zeeland bags for $40, $30 and $22....three are even only $15, 16 and 10-- not so much.....overall, I have 8 new bags I have NOT yet used and he thinks it's weird that I have 'too' much I still have not used. But I will use them from time to time anyway (on special occasions)....WHY???
