If it's not pertinent to the story then you probably won't see it. If my Son, who is an actor and writer, were not on vacation down in New Orleans I would call him and see what his answer would be. If you will also notice, it is rare for a soap opera to show someone sitting down watching a tv, in fact, it is rare to see a tv on a soap opera.
